Awaiting "Taylor Marie"

A Good Friend of mine is going to be a Grandma! Her Son and future and Daughter-in-law are expecting a little girl in May. "Taylor Marie" Here is the Quilt I put together for her. Daddy was being all macho and said he didn't want the whole house to be pink now that they were having a girl, :) so I went with mostly oranges and yellows.

Originally I was going to applique animals and baby stuff where the hearts, flowers and stars are. But after talking with another quilting friend, its for a baby and you want it to be functional too. That and my limited time to get it done for her Baby Shower on March 15th, I just went simple. :)

It may be hard to see but there are animals on the back material.
So that is what I have been doing. I also finished MY Granddaughters Quilt that I have been hand quilting for 2 years (her Birthday is 3/9) and a Table runner for my Sister B-day 3/21 and I am still working on some placemats to match. She knows about the table runner, but not the placemats. :) I will post pictures of those after I finish the placemats.
Well I guess that's all for now.
Have fun, be good and Be Blessed

You are so talented. The quilt is beautiful. I couldn't see the animals until I right clicked it and it enlarged enough to fill my screen. The animals are so cute.
Blessings,

Lynn,

I'm so envious of your quilting abilities! I've tried to do some, but just haven't caught the inspiration. I guess each one of us have different talents and tastes and I'm afraid I didn't get the one for quilting. I still love to go to quilt shows and have been asked to join a quilter's club, but I haven't because I'm afraid I might get bored and I would feel bad to drop out.

Well, I guess I'll just admire quilters for their art and leave it to them.

Beautiful work! I'd like to see the table runner and placemats also!

Great Quilt Lynn! I am sure the gift will be treasured and will become a new heirloom for them! Of course one that is well used and loved!
